Mara, an exemplary factory worker and father of two is striving for a better life for his family. His efforts are derailed by his brother-in-law Paja, a hopeless teenager roped into the football hooligan life by his girlfriend, Dana. When Mara’s wife asks him to tag along with Paja at a football match, he has no idea that his life is about to change. In an unexpected turn of events, Mara gets in.

JIRI VOLEK

Jiri Volek was born in Kolin, Czech republic, right next to the grocery store from Forman’s Black Peter. He studied architecture and graphic design in Prague and later on he started his film studies at FAMU with Vera Chytilova as his mentor. In 2010 he shot the movie “Bastards” about growing aggression among teenagers and the thin line between foolish pranks of boredom and pathological violence.

In 2012 he made his movie “Open Call” that was nominated for the Best Student Film at Cesky lev national film awards. This movie is a bitter sweet summer story about two girlfriends stranded in a carousel of questionable castings for young girl models. Jiri is also an author of a very successful chapter “Flag Bearers” in the project “Tribes 0” where he reveals the onset of the british hooligan “illness” during 1970’s. He also shot a television adaptation of this chapter for Czech television.

With his currently finished movie “The End” he won Czech television’s competition “The Accelerator“ selecting the most ambitious scripts from all Czech film schools for future co-production.

Jalal Hussaini had studied cinema in Kabul University. He started by
editing for other students and his first short film was ANGELS OF
EARTH earned many awards inside the country. Jalal’s short films got selected in many festivals and residences worldwide, including
the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Asian film academy in South
Korea.

In 2014 AMIR & SARA got selected in Clermont Ferrand in France and then he decided to go to Germany  and start a new life.

In a small village, a bus stops at the only intersection, where the traffic light is stuck on red. The bus driver, refuses to move forward which provokes a conflict with the passengers and the local law enforcement. A story about the funny side of apathy, selfishness, and loneliness in a world where following the rules is a misunderstanding.

Toma Waszarow is a director, producer and editor. Founder of production and distribution company – REVO FILMS, based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Studied Film and TV Directing at SW University, Bulgaria. Participated at Berlinale Talent Campus, Sarajevo Talent Campus, TOSMI, How to Say It.
His director’s debut THE KISS is 1 minute short, selected to more than 40 festivals, 5 times awarded and was seen by more than 13 millions of viewers in YouTube.
In 2015 and 2016 Toma Waszarow was awarded by the Bulgarian Film Academy as the best film editor for editing the feature film SINKING OF SOZOPOL.

His three children go to catch crabs in the same farm, then the landlord and his son realized that some one stolen banana within their periphery when they found bunch of banana hidden in a pit. One of the Siddi Subba’s son accused as culprit. Father is not accepting his own guilt he committed, accused child is unaware of the situation.

PAAKHI  A  TYREWALA

Paakhi A Tyrewala is a writer turned director from the Indian Film Industry. Having started her career in films as a child artist at a young age of two and a half years age, deep in heart she knew she belonged to cinema. She has been through a long and interesting journey of exploring various departments in the industry while being behind as well as in front of the camera.

Her first shot at direction was a song she directed in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’. Recently, she has been in the news for the success of her directorial short ‘Kajal’ – a film about Women’s right to be.
The film had its world premiere at the New York Indian Film Festival and later had an Indian premiere in Mumbai. The film has already been selected/screened at few other prestigious film festivals across the world.
Paakhi’s directorial feature ‘Pahuna’ will also be out in theatres in the next few months.
Currently under post, Pahuna is the journey of three kids from Nepal who get separated from their parents and find a home for themselves in the beautiful Indian state of Sikkim. The film has been made in Nepali, a language unknown to Paakhi; proving her to be a fearless filmmaker.
Paakhi has three films credited to her as a writer and acted as the lead in two. She is associated with the Art of Living for over 10 years and it has given her a unique perspective of the world view.

Zhaleika, shows us a world stranded in time, in which we must follow antediluvian rules or suffer the consequences. For Lora, creator in a Bulgarian town is a mixture of monumental boredom and hesitant desire. Its existence has been determined by rigid social and religious customs, until a radical rupture carries the limits of the small community and beyond. The director captures the claustrophobia of a small town and the immensity of the emotional world of a young woman in images that remain with the viewer long after the credits end.

Eliza Petkova, was born in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria in 1983. She graduated with an MA in philosophy and modern Japan from the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in 2008. She then worked as an independent filmmaker in Berlin, focusing mainly on documentary at first. Since 2011, she has been studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy(dffb). Her short film ABWESEND (ABSENT) was nominated for a Cinéfondation Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Her feature film, ZHALEIKA (2016), premiered at the Berlinale Generation 14Plus and has won the Sofia City of Film Grand Prix Award at the 20th edition of theSofia International Film Festival.

Sealed load, is a thriller based on real facts that raise a political and ecological theme, that of toxic waste transferred from the great powers to the so-called third world. A mysterious load of so-called toxic minerals appears in the andean plain alerting the population. The government charged an ambitious police captain with the secret mission to get rid of them, disregarding their fate. With a burden police group and an anarchist machinist, the routine journey becomes a wandering and tragic journey.

Julia Vargas-Weise (Cochabamba, 1942) is a photographer, but also a screenwriter and film director. She studied photography at the Ecole des Arts et Métiers in Switzerland. Her 40 years of experience in the audiovisual area have earned her numerous awards as a photographer, scriptwriter and director, and national and international awards. She has lectured at universities and professional and popular training workshops. She has published a book of his photographs exposed in Europe, USA and Latin America and has spread his works of film and video in festivals, alternative and commercial circuits.

In 1991 she began as a short filmmaker, and has actively participated in Latin American video movements and has attended numerous national and international festivals.

In 2004 she released her first feature film, Esito would be … a choral drama framed in the lavish carnival of Oruro, while Patricia, once enough (2005) is a 63 minute film intended for HIV prevention, through the drama of a young man who must confront and assume his condition of being a carrier of the virus.

Nakom, recreates the conflict between progress and tradition. In present day Ghana, Nakom follows Iddrisu, a medical student who is required by his family after his father’s sudden death. Iddrisu buries his father and temporarily assumes the role of head of family and impoverished farm, inheriting the task of planting the crop and the debt left by the deceased patriarch that could destroy the family. Iddrisu tries to continue his studies but is increasingly frustrated with the incessant needs of those around him and the demanding work of the land. The difficult relationship with his uncle Napoleon, who is owed the considerable debt, is further complicated by the pregnancy of Napoleon’s daughter. Over the season until the harvest, Iddrisu clings to tradition, duty owes family and all sense of urgency to do what he must to secure his own future.

Kelly Daniela Norris, graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in Film and Psychology, and taught for 3 years in the South Bronx with Teach for America. She directed the narrative short film “Sinnerman” (winner of Audience Favorite Debut at the Route 66 International Film Festival and the Black Expressions Award at Indianapolis International Film Festival), and studied screen-writing under David Milch (“Deadwood”). She shot her first feature, “Sombras de Azul” (Shades of Blue), on-location in Cuba, weaving together memory, travelogue, and narrative as a tribute to her late brother. “Sombras de Azul” premiered at the Austin Film Festival, winning the Audience Award in its category. Norris directed her 2nd feature, “Nakom”, over a period of 4 months on-location in Ghana.

T.W. Pittman is a writer and producer with Rasquaché Films, which she co-founded with filmmaker Kelly Daniela Norris. She wrote and co-directed the short film Sinnerman (2009), and produced Norris’s debut feature Sombras de Azul (2013) on location in Cuba. Pittman wrote and co-directed Nakom (2016), set in the community of subsistence farmers in northeastern Ghana where she previously served with the U.S. Peace Corps.
