Madrid, 1980. When Sole sees Nano come in, bloody and beaten, she already knows what to do. In an improvised infirmary, she tries to mend his son’s wounds. But Nano is getting old, and his body doesn’t heal like it used to. At his mother’s pleas, Nano offers a deal: he will retire from boxingif she, for the first time, watches one of his fights.

Rosendo M. Diezma is a filmmaker from Seville. Passionate about cinema since childhood, he began making films on his own, ranging from 3-minute short films to two independent feature films (2020 and 2021). In 2021, he enrolled at ECAM (Madrid Film School) and continued directing both inside and outside of school. Simultaneously, he took his first steps in the music video industry, working with artists from the Seville scene. “The Cure” is the culmination of his years of training, a classic-style story that delves into the world of Spanish boxing in the 1980s.
