Liên Bỉnh Phát is a Vietnamese actor whose career began with one of the most remarkable feature-film debuts in recent Vietnamese cinema. With no previous professional acting experience, he was cast as Dũng in Leon Le’s Song Lang (2018), a performance that brought him international recognition and established him as one of Vietnam’s leading screen actors.
In Song Lang, Liên Bỉnh Phát portrays Dũng, a young debt collector in 1980s Saigon whose encounter with a cải lương performer profoundly changes his life. His understated performance and commanding screen presence earned widespread critical recognition. For his debut, he received the Gemstone Award at the 2018 Tokyo International Film Festival, along with the Face of the Year Award for Best Actor in a Feature Film at the Ngôi Sao Xanh Awards and a Best Actor award from the Vietnam Cinema Association.


He continued to build his career across Vietnamese film and television, including a leading role in Ky Nam Inn, directed by Leon Le, and The Butterfly House. In 2019, he received the Asian Stars: Up Next Award at the International Film Festival & Awards Macao, further establishing him as one of the region’s emerging actors.
In 2025, Liên Bỉnh Phát expanded his career into Taiwanese television with The Outlaw Doctor, in which he portrayed Dr. Phạm Văn Ninh. His performance earned him the Best Leading Actor award at the 60th Golden Bell Awards. With the win, he became the first Vietnamese actor to receive Taiwan’s Golden Bell Award for Best Leading Actor, marking a historic milestone for Vietnamese performers on the Taiwanese television stage.From his breakthrough debut in Song Lang to becoming the first Vietnamese actor to win a Golden Bell Award for Best Leading Actor, Liên Bỉnh Phát has built an international career spanning Vietnamese cinema and the broader Asian film and television industry.
