Debroop Basu is a director from Kolkata, India. Having studied literature for his Bachelors, he pivoted for a career in film after graduation. His interests lie in Philosophy, Urban Culture and Music. Premkator is his debut short as a director. The film was made as a part of his projects in SRFTI, and is informed by his observations on class and family politics in middle class households, growing up in South Kolkata. He is currently working in Advertising, and wishes to make nuanced coming-of-age films over the years.
