In October 1990, in Tokyo, while Kurosawa was still filming his penultimate film, Rhapsody in August (Hachi-gatsu no kyōshikyoku, 1991), writer and director met to discuss the differences between literary and cinematographic language, and the difficulties of the adaptation of the first to the second. On the occasion of the central topic of Rhapsody in August, they addressed the physical, spiritual and historical consequences of the Nagasaki nuclear bombing in 1945 and the reaction of the perpetrator, the United States: the establishment of a machinery of oblivion in Japan, under its auspices, in place of acceptance of his crime and publicly apologize; they also delved into the conditions of happiness, the limits of man, and, of course, the implications of this in art. It is a friendly duel between two of the sharpest and most passionate minds of his time, showing a deep concern to leave, through his work, a positive legacy for humanity. IMAGINEINDIA CELEBRATES ITS 18TH EDITION, SHOWING MORE THAN 80 MOVIES.
– The festival will give the Lifetime Achievement Award to the indian director Buddhadeb Dasgupta.

The 18th edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival will take place in Madrid from 17 to 31 May. 81 films, 5 venues, 18 international juries and 15 international guests in this festival, which has already become a classic among film festivals. On May 31, Thursday, 7:00 pm, took place the Closing Gala of the 17th edition of the Imagineindia International Film Festival. With the presence of directors, international producers: Bauddhayan Mukherji (India) Director, Airat Iamilov (Russia) Director of photography, Delphine Montaigne (France) Actress, Yunxing Nie (China) Director, Sun Yun (China) Producer, Tzahi Grad (Israel) Director, producer.
The Gala was presented by the actor Sergio Pazos and actress Yolanda Font.
The Awards were given by Spanish cinema personalities like : Pedro Hernández (Producer of Magical Girl), Ángela Molina (Actress), Innocence (Singer), Azucena de la Fuente (Actress), Alba Ferrara (Actress), Lola Forner (Actress), José Marzilli (Representative of Javier Bardem), David Marqués (Scriptwriter of Campeones), Paola García San Juan (Director), Pedro Mari Sánchez (Actor), Félix Sabroso (Director) or authorities : Hagit Mualem (Embassy of Israel), Jeeva Maria Roy (Embassy of India) among others.

The 17th edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival will come to Madrid’s screens from May 17 to 31, 2018. More than 80 films, 6 venues, 12 international guests make this festival a classic among the film festivals in Spain.
13 films from 11 countries will compete in the Official Section for the “Golden Chakra” in the 17th edition of Imagineindia, which will take place in Madrid from May 17 to 31. Manuel Tallafé (Actor)
Manuel Tallafé (Cadiz, July 5, 1963) is a Spanish actor. A multi-faceted artist, he has also been gagman, singer (won with his first album the prize ImaginaRock), collaborator in television and radio programs. Participant in more than 30 films.
Nerea Garmendia (Actress)
Born in the Guipuzcoan town of Beasain, at age 10, she moved to San Sebastián where she lived until she went to Madrid to study at the Cristina Rota Drama School and Alicia Hermida’s La Barraca.
Nerea began to become famous among the Basque public with the program of ETB2 Vaya Semanita where she was one of the protagonists. The sitcom was presented by Óscar Terol and had such fame that TVE1 decided to launch them statewide with Made In China.
