The 17th edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival will come to Madrid’s screens from May 17 to 31, 2018. More than 80 films, 6 venues, 12 international guests make this festival a classic among the film festivals in Spain.
13 films from 11 countries will compete in the Official Section for the “Golden Chakra” in the 17th edition of Imagineindia, which will take place in Madrid from May 17 to 31. Accompanied by parallel sections for documentaries, short films, film schools, humanitarian conflicts (Syria), women or religions.
Filmoteca Española (Spanish Film Institute), Cineteca, Casa Sefarad or Travel Brand Xperience will be the main venues of the festival.
The jury of the festival made up of great names in Spanish cinema such as Andrés de la Torre, Juan Echanove, Javier Aguirresarobe or Azucena de la Fuente will decide on a total of eight awards.
Filmoteca Española will host a Retrospective of the Indian master Buddhadeb Dasgupta. Workshops, conferences, round tables will take place the 15 days of this film festival Imagineindia.
This 17th edition of Imagineindia the festival will count with the attendance of Airat Iamilov (Sofichka) Russia, Bauddhayan Mukherji (The Violin Player) India, Delphine Montaigne (DNA of Wild Beasts) France, Yunxing Nie (Highway 318) China, Sun Yun (Highway 318) China, Tzahi Grad (The Cousin) Israel among others.
The Imagineindia festival is sponsored by the Madrid City Council, the State Government of Madrid, Embassy of India, Directorate for film festivals (DFF), Minsitry of External Affairs of India (MEA), in addition to the numerous collaborators.
