Monica, a young woman raised in HongKong, is immersed in the commercial industry. The demands of her job preventher from taking the time to heal from her recent breakup. One day, she encounters a mysterious fortune teller who reveals that her tumultuous love life will take a turn due to a “man with a cat.” This sets the stage for a whimsical and unexpected romantic journey.

ROONEY ZONG

Rooney Zong (Yuxuan Zong) is a filmmaker originally from China, currently residing in Hong Kong. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film Directing and Editing from the Communication University of China. Subsequently, she pursued her education in the United Kingdom, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Documentary Production from Royal Holloway, University of London. Currently, she is working towards a Master of Fine Arts in Film at Hong Kong Baptist University, while simultaneously developing her final year project.

DIRECTOR´S NOTE

The film was Inspired by the director’s own experiences. While she worked as a commercial director in Shanghai, her entire life consumed by work. During one date with her boyfriend, she received a client con-call that lasted five hours, and she didn’t even realize when her boyfriend
left.
Struggling to balance her professional and romantic life, she found it challenging to maintain a stable intimate relationship. The only unwavering source of love and comfort in her life was her pet. This
became the foundation for her story, as she aimed to humorously portray the unique connection between two lonely young individuals brought together by their pets.
