After the next cancellation of his performance, an old Actor makes s decision to die. Having met with a young untalented Colleague at the poster of his native theater, the Actor is convinced of the correctness of his decision. He gets on a strange bus, in which he meets a woman, who becomes a “victim” of the acting of her new acquaintance.

VALERIA POPOVA

I was born in 1978 in the Amur region in the family of a Long-range Aviation pilot. I graduated from the Socio-economical University in Saratov and accidentally after being interviewed for the position of the presenter of the news release on a local TV channel I got on television. I was an editor and correspondent. In 2022, I graduated from the Academy of the Media Industry with a degree in Directing television films and programs. In 2023, I got my degree of the Higher Courses of Screenwriters and Directors in the documentary film workshop.

DIRECTOR´S NOTE

“You know I’m adequate, right? I had a dream. I want to make a movie” – that’s how I started a phone conversation with my screenwriter friend. And after 3 weeks, the script of “Catharsis” was ready. For me, this story is like a layered pie – everyone will find their own “taste” or “seasoning” in it. For some, it is a film about the law of the boomerang, for others it is a rebus, where it is necessary to solve the finale. For me, “Catharsis” is a parable about fate.
