Julius Gintaras Blum was born in Dresden in 1995. Following professional education as a media designer for film and sound, he worked as a freelance director and DoP on documentaries, short films and commissioned work. Since 2019 he has been studying directing documentary film at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

In the exclusion zone between Poland and Belarus, Oliwia’s decision to help a stranger in need turns into a tragic struggle for humanity.

Born 1994 in Germany, he spent 10 years of his childhood in Tanzania. After shooting his first short films during his studies in audiovisual media, he worked as an assistant director on feature film and TV productions in Berlin. Since 2020 he has been studying film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Melody teaches music at a centre for cancerous children. The thirty children are having a party at the end of autumn and ask Melody to compose a piece using the sounds of thirty different birds. She goes to her home village to record the birdsong and is helped by the mute caretaker of the family home, Mango. When they find just 20 birds, Mango makes Melody understand that only the old village singer knows where the other birds are, but bird hunters have forced him out of the village. Melody sets out to find both him and the missing birds.

It is 1930. A bitterly crying two-years-old child is seeing her mother off on her way to a film shooting. An elderly man turns to the mother and asks her where she was going to and whether it was worth the child’s tears.
The film is an attempt to answer this question.
The woman leaving for film shooting is Nutsa Gogoberidze – the first woman filmmaker in Georgia and one among the first in the Soviet Union.
Two years old child is me — Lana Gogoberidze. Today 95 years old film maker. In the 30s Nutsa shot two films immediately banned by the Soviet censorship. In 1937, during the times of Great Terror, she was arrested and exiled for 10 years.
