Born in Munich Germany, and after receiving her MA in Photography & Video, Daniela Creutz moved to New York City where she completed her postgraduate film program (directing, screenplay & acting) at Tisch School of the Arts, NY Atlantic Theatre Company and NY Film Academy. Shortly after, she founded her own film production, B/C/P (BlueCirceProductions LLC) and lived and worked in New York City for 15 years. Initially, she was hired as a designer for broadcasters such as ABC Network and CBS Studios, but then increasingly produced independent films, especially documentary films, fiction short films, corporate and image films, which she wrote and directed. The development, as well as the creative and technical realization of different film topics – from research to writing treatments and screenplays, up to the final postproduction – have been Daniela’s core competence for many years.

Her film contributions include a.o. “Nobel Voices,” a 33-part documentary about the most-famous Nobel Prize winners on behalf of the Smithsonian Institute Washington DC, her fictional short films “Captivated” and “Conman” both screened worldwide at film festivals. Her 90-minute documentary “Arranged Happiness “for German Broadcast Television Bayerisches Fernsehen received the ‘Special Jury Award‘ at Aljazeera Film Festival in Qatar, the ‘Director’s Vision Award‘ at the International Indian Film Festival in Stuttgart, ‘Best Documentary‘ at IIIFF in Madrid, ‘Best Directing‘ at the Philadelphia Film Festival USA, the Top 10 Audience Pick at the ‘Cinema Novo Film Festival in Belgium, and was nominated for the ‘Juliane Bartel Journalism Award’, in Germany.

Daniela was honored to be Jury at multiple International Film Festivals and acted as Jury President of Germany’s Metropolis Director’s Guild, in 2018. She has been member of the WGA-Writer’s Guild USA since 2000 and is member of the BVR Director’s Guild, Germany since 2010.
