The XX edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival Madrid will take place in Madrid from September 24 to October 9.
96 films, 21 sections, 16 days, competitive sections for feature films, documentaries and short films, 23 members of the International Jury, make Imagineindia one of the classics among European film festivals.
This edition Imagineindia will have Turkey as Invited Country with five films. Turkish director Faysal Soysal will be the guest of honor of the Turkish section. A restored copy of Satyajit Ray’s film, The Music Room, will be presented.
12 films from 10 countries will compete in the Official Selection for the “Golden Chakra”, accompanied by competitive sections of documentaries, short films, film schools, migrations, women, special screenings, 50 years of Bangladesh, love, life, nature, etc.
Artistic Metropol will host the festival that will last 16 days. The Jury presided by Pedro Hernández will decide on a total of 32 awards, first and second prize and is made up of well-known members of the film industry:
Pedro Hernández, Modhura Palit, Chitrangada Satarupa, Leena Alam, Bridget Ikin, Anjali Monteiro, Melina León, Ridhima Mehra, Olga Khlasheva, Daniela Creutz, Kim Do Kyung, Mehdi Rahmani, Sougata Bhattacharyya, Dove Hassan, Félix Sabroso, José Luis Guerín, Gillem Oliver, Luis Coderque, Andrés de la Torre, Alberto Luchini, Hernán Zin, Olga Korotko, Óscar Sánchez.
• This edition of the festival will pay tribute to the recently deceased Indian director Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
• Film institutes such as Famu Film School, VGIK, SRFTI, Moscow Film School among others will show the latest graduation works of their students.
• Universities, documentary promotion institutes or private production companies, TISS, PSBT, EASTWOOD AGENCY, PORTUGAL FILM will also participate with their productions.
• As a tribute to the directors of Afghanistan, the festival will have a section SAVE AFGHANISTAN, with five films.
