Aliev Mourat, A. Bekbolotov win Second Best DOP award at Imagineindia 2021

Aliev Mourat and Akjol Bekbolotov win Second Best DOP Award at Imagineindia 2021 for the film Shambala (Artykpay Suyundukov).

ALIEV MOURAT

ALIEV MOURAT ABDUVALIEVICH is a cinematographer, Director of Photography of the highest category, who has lensed multiple award-winning films and documentaries. He is an Honored Worker of Culture of Kyrgyzstan and member of the Asia-Pacific Film Academy. Born in the mountains of the Naryn city in Kyrgyzstan, he graduated from the cinematography department of VGIK, a well-known Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov in Moscow.

Mourat Aliev has filmed over 45 feature films and documentaries. His credits include many critically acclaimed films, among them “Kurmanjan Datka” directed by Sadyk Sher-Niyaz, winner of the Best Film and Best Cinematography in Tiburon IFF, California, USA. Mourat Aliev’s award-winning features include “Shal” (“The old men”), bringing him Film Achievement Award in Asia Pacific for Best Cinematography in ASPA (Asia Pacific Screen Awards). Other credits include “Through the eyes of the ghost” directed by Rustam Ibragimbekov, this film was awarded with the “Nika” award for the best film in the CIS countries and “Kelin” directed by Ermek Tursunov, winning the Best Cinematography at the New York Eurasian Film Festival.

Murat died of COVID in 2020.

AKJOL BEKBOLOTOV

AKJOL BEKBOLOTOV is a cinematographer, Director of Photography, who has lensed multiple award-winning films and documentaries. Born in Naryn in Kyrgyzstan, he graduated from the cinema department of Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas, in Bishkek city, Kyrgyzstan.

He has filmed 8 feature films and about 10 documentaries.
From May 2006 worked at the Aytysh Film cinema studio. Since 20.10.2020 he has been working as the chief of the National Cinema Studio “Kyrgyzfilm” named after T. Okeev.
