Imagineindia celebrates it,s 19th edition

IMAGINEINDIA CELEBRATES ITS 19TH EDITION

The 19th edition of the ImagineIndia International Film Festival will take place in Madrid from 24 Sep to 8 Oct.

137 films, 16 sections, 15 days, Competitive sections for Features, Documentaries and Short films, 20 international juries, make Imagineindia one of the classics among film festivals in Europe.

The festival had been postponed and will take place in Madrid from 24 Sept to 8 Oct 2020.

This year Imagineindia pays homage to Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski. Restored prints of Satyajit Ray,s Unvanquished and The Music Room will be presented.

17 films from 13 countries will compete in the Official Section to win the “Golden Chakra”, accompanied by parallel sections for documentaries, short films, film schools, migrations, women, etc.

The Círculo de Bellas Artes, Artistic Metropol, and Casa Asia will be the venues of the festival that will last fifteen days.
The Jury presided by Mahtab Keramati will decide on a total of 14 awards, first and second prize and is made up of Auteurs of the film industry :

Andrés de la Torre, Alberto Luchini.

• The present edition of the festival will give the Lifetime Achievement Award to the Indian actress Shabana Azmi, the Honoray Award for Institutions who promotes cinema will go to PSBT and will pay tribute to the Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski.

• The festival will also dedicate a special look to Films from Assam and Portugal. In memory of recently deceased universal director, Marlen Khutsiev (Russia), the festival will screen the film It was in May.
Film institutes like the Famu Film School and London Film School will show the latest graduation works of their students. Universities, documentary promotion institutes or private production companies, TISS, PSBT, VIACOM 18 STUDIOS, PORTUGAL FILM will also participate with their productions.

Due to the unprecedented ‘COVID uncertainty’ at par with ‘Heisenberg’s uncertainty’ the esteemed guest list may differ slightly. We will inform and keep updating about the same as the festival approaches.
