Acclaimed ad-film maker and director of Bengali film, Teenkahon, Bauddhayan Mukherji participant at Imagineindia 2015 has bagged the Aravindan Puraskaram for the best debutante director for his film.

The award, instituted by the Chalachitra Film Society, in memory of eminent director G Aravindan, comprises a purse of Rs 25,000, memento and citation, a release said today.
G Aravndan was a multi-faceted artist, multiple National Award winner and the pioneer of parallel cinema in Kerala. His film Kanchan Sita marked the beginning of independent filmmaking in South India.

The four-member jury, chaired by noted film editor Beena Paul
Venugopal, selected the movie from among 18 films from different parts of the country.

Set in the backdrop of three different periods, ‘Teenkahon’ explores different hues of the man-woman relationships. The film beautifully depicts three distinct periods of Bengal spanning the last 100 years. The first story is a homage to Satyajit Ray who’s films inspired
Bauddhayan Mukherji. The film has screened at many festivals in the last few months and received both critical acclaim and awards. We had an insightful interview with the director sometime back where he spoke at length about Teenkahon, his journey and inspirations.
