Kishore Kadam, nominated for Best Actor at Imagineindia 2025

Kadam has been nominated for Best Actor for the film Cineman (Umesh Bagade) India. The film has got 3 Nominations.

Kishore Kadam, a vibrant actor on stage and cinema ; is equally popular in the literary elite and to the masses by his pen name “ Saumitra” for his sensitive lyrics , as he is known for his title songs for Marathi serials like Avantika and Ek Dhaga Sukhacha. He has given the fantastic performance in the recent film “Godakath” and “Awanchit” for which he was awarded with National Fim Award ( Special mension ) at the 68th National Film Awards 2022.. The new era in Marathi films have spectatored Kishore’s wide-ranging performances in Jogwa, Fandry, Natarang, Pangira and Ek Cup Chaha. Kishore Kadam’s breathtaking entry in Hindi film Black Friday directed by Anurag Kashyap have led his impact over the niche of the layman.

Kishore Kadam being the graduate from Commerce section was under the strict training of well thespian Pt.Satyadev Dubey for about 12 years. His sensitive mind, passion for acting, and sincere efforts linked with the skilled training brought him up to the professional avenue of performances. He started his career with the play , “Avart”. He had an opportunity to work on stage for various plays like Adhyantar, Natsamrat, Pratibimba, Wada Chirebandi, and thus gave him the scope to work for reputed directors like Waman Kendre, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Atul Pethe, Chetan Datar, Madhav Watwe, and unsurprisingly with Satyadev Dubey. Kishor’s acting talent have led him to the Hindi Theatre and directors like Jaydev Hattangadi, Salim Arif and his role of the disturbed son in the play “Salesman Ramlal”; directed by Feroz Abbas Khan is internationally acclaimed.

His perceptive intellect and a creative psyche have evolved Kishore as a poet and a lyrist. He has written innumerable poetries and have composed songs for films like Aai directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Bindhast, Navasacha Por, Aai Shapath, and many more. Kishore have been showcasing his lyrics in the show titled KAVITAANCHYA GAVA JAWE which have been performed more than 50 shows throughout country. He written few one act plays and as well lead the role of director for few plays. Popular Prakashan have published his collection titled “Aani Tarihi Mee” which have received various prestigious awards.

Kishore Kadam has set up his mark in the arena of the television and films. He had been acting in the hallmark serials like, “ Lifeline” directed by Pratima Kulkarni, “Bharat Ek Khoj” directed by Sham Benegal and Reshimgathi which are the few instances of his performance galore. He had prospect to work in films with icon directors like Govind Nilhalini in his film Father and others; AmolPalekar, Shyam Benegal, Sudhir Mishra and many more. Kishore had been honored with various esteemed awards on the state and national level for his acting and as well in the literary domain. The most prominent of all are best actor 2007-08 Pune International Festivals for Jogwa & Dukhache Shwapad and Nilu Phule award for Kishore’s contribution in cinema and theatre.

National Film Awards
Kadam has been recognized at the National Film Awards on two occasions

  1. Special Mention (2022): He received a Special Mention at the 68th National Film Awards for his performance in the Marathi film Godakaath and Awanchhit (2021).
  2. Lead Role in Samar (1999): Kadam played the lead role in Samar, directed by Shyam Benegal. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in 1999, and his performance was widely acclaimed.

    • Zee Gaurav Puraskar (2010): Best Supporting Actor for his role in Natrang.
