XXIV Imagineindia International Film Festival. Madrid

Dear colleagues, we are happy to inform you of the launch of the 24th Edition of ImagineIndia, which will be held from September 1 to 16, 2024 at Artistic Metropol in Madrid. As you know, every year ImagineIndia give the Honorary Award for an entire professional career to outstanding filmmakers who have an important connection with Asian cinema. On this occasion the AWARD OF HONOR FOR AN ENTIRE PROFESSIONAL CAREER to: the Hong Kong filmmaker Ann Hui and the Indian filmmaker Gulzar (Sampooran Singh Kalra).

Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 for Gulzar

Sampooran Singh Kalra, known by his pseudonym Gulzar, is an Indian poet, author and film director. In 2008 he won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Jai Ho” (shared with A. R. Rahman), for the film Slumdog Millionaire. In 2013 he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest honor given to a person in cinema. Continue reading…
