Pooja Gupte, Jury member for Best DOP at Imagineindia

Pooja Gupte studied cinematography from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, India. Pooja was selected as an Indian cinematographer in Berlinale Talent Campus 2012, Germany. She was also invited to present her work in Stuttgart, Germany as part of series Making of Indian Cinema at Stuttgart-Indian Film Festival 2019. Pooja has recently become a member of Imago’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Her first feature film as a Director of Photography “Crossing Bridges” won at 61st National award as best Sherdupen film which she also had produced under her production house Easel Films. She was awarded Best Cinematography for feature film “Rukh” in 5th AIFF 2018. Pooja was awarded best cinematography for the short film “Water Demon” at Feel the Reel International Film Festival 2021 Glasgow UK. Pooja is also a very active member of IWCC (Indian Women Cinematographers Collective).

Pooja Gupte’s recent work as Director of Photography :

  • Panchak a Marathi feature film produced by Madhuri Dixit under her production RNM moving pictures released on 5th Jan 2024 in theatres and had 4 weeks run.
  • Pooja has shot a feature called “Minimum” produced by Platoon one starring Naseeruddin Shah, Saba Azad and Namit Das which was an Opening film at UK Asian film festival.
  • She has also shot feature film “Silence 2 The nIght owl bar Shootouts” Produced by Mr. Kiran Deohans ISC, Directed By Aban Deohans, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Prachi Desai currently streaming on ZEE5. Pooja has also shot a feature film Logout starring Babil Khan produced by Viacom and Poshampa films, which premiered in Stuttgart Indian Film Festival 2024 and slated to release soon.
  • Naam a short film shot by Pooja starring Anjali Patil is doing festival rounds and has travelled more than 30 festivals.
  • Resent release is a short film The Puppet Show shot by Pooja is a part of anthology Zindaginama and is streaming on SonyLiv

“Rukh” directed by Atanu Mukherjee produced by Drishyam Films.
“RUKH” (English title “Unknown Faces”) was a part of Drishyam Sundance Screenwriters Lab’2015 India.
”Rukh” was a part of NFDC Film Bazaar, India recommends 2016 and was listed as one of the hot projects from India by Screen International.
“Rukh” got theatrical release Pan India on 27th October 2017. Rukh streamed on Netflix.
